Devlog 1

Attention shop- ...wait, wrong mod.

*ahem*, Hello everybody, and welcome to Devlog #1 of Baldi's Basics Classic Expanded. So, I have something kind of important to say about the development status of this project. I already posted this on YouTube, but I figured I might as well post it here too.

To be honest, I'm willing to bet that as soon as Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered releases, the hype for Baldi's Basics Classic Expanded (if there even is any) is going to drop massively.

And here's the thing...

Like, I obviously want to fix a lot of the new bugs in prerelease 2, because that's been an issue, and I can release "prerelease 2.1", which will basically be a minor bug fix update (and might even include some "extra surprises" if things work out). I also want to upload the project on Gamejolt and possibly even Gamebanana.

But after that, if almost no one is interested in the project anymore, it would be pointless to continue working on it, which I fear is something that might happen.

Another issue with this is my limited skills in coding with C#. It's not like I'm terrible at it, but whenever I need to code something major (for example, a new character), I always end up having to ask someone who knows better than I do. It's annoying too, because everything could get done faster if I could do this all myself.

(and also, if any of you think you could help with coding in this project, please feel free to DM me on Discord or Twitter and let me know. We could also use some voice actors on the team as well, so if any of you think you could do that, also be sure to let me know. You must also promise to keep ALL unreleased content confidential. Leaking any sort of content will get you removed from the team.)

I don't want Baldi's Basics Classic Expanded to be considered as "just another unoriginal decompile", I have some ideas that I think you all would find quite interesting, but for reasons I've mentioned earlier, it's hard to get them finished and finished PROPERLY.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, try to be patient for better and more developed versions of Baldi's Basics Classic Expanded. I understand that some people genuinely aren't interested in this project, and that’s okay. These first prerelease versions have been pretty terrible (in my opinion) so far. It probably would have been a better idea to start this project once I had more decompiling experience.

But, despite all of this, I still really do want to continue working on this, it's just going to take a lot of time, time which I hope will end up being worth the effort, else I may have cancel this project and work on something else.

But I don't know. Maybe I'm over-exaggerating. I don't know what else to say. That's pretty much it. In fact, you should probably go touch some grass after reading this huge page of text. After all, don’t you have anything better to do?
